Poetry: Saturday Guardian
You shake the outside off your hair
the umbrella goes away.
The buttons on your raincoat lose slip their moorings;
steam seals your glasses.
Two pints of Irish Pride are rescued
and you sally forth through the Rugby Boys
to where Newsprint and an empty seat are waiting.
You recline, as the fire is stoked.
