Engineers will inherit the world

Or, more specifically, software engineers, people with coding skills, and quite likely, any facility with numbers. Charles Arthur has suggested that journalists should be learning code, not least as it will allow them to interrogate data better. But why should this not be true of anyone else who plays with, manipulates or creates information? I suspect that these 'craft' skills will be the ones truly in demand in the next few years.
